GENERAL INFORMATION

Once written confirmation (email or letter) of your requirments has been received ,together with your deposit cheque or paypal payment, booking confirmation will be sent out to you.

Please confirm in your booking information you full name, address, telephone number (home and mobile if possible), email address, the dates required, party size, pet details and any other information you feel we need to know.

The balance of the charges have to be received (cleared funds) no later than 4 weeks before your arrival. Once this has been received confirmation will be send out to you together with the Terms & Conditions, which need to agreed to, signed and returned by return.

Arrival time is NOT before 3.00pm and departure time is NOT after 10.00am 

Electricity- The cost of electricity is NOT included in the rental fees. In true ‘Orkney Spirit’ we rely on our guests to honestly declare the amount of electricity used during their stay. Please be kind enough to complete Electricity Usage and Payment form which will be sent to you with the Terms & Condictions and return it together with your payment within seven days of your departure (spare forms and SAE's are available in the house).

Heating- The house is heated with oil fired central heating. The cost of the heating oil IS included in the rental fees. The controls for the heating are situated to the left hand side as you enter the Kitchen. The boiler instruction booklet can be found in the cupboard next to the controls.

Cooker- The cooker is fuelled with bottled gas. The cost of the gas IS included in the rental fees. The gas bottle is situated along the side of the house. The gas bottle will have to be turned on before the cooker can be used. Please ensure that the gas bottle is turned off at the end of your stay.

Bedding- There is spare bedding . But please only use if necessary.

Open Fire- If you do use the log/coal burner in the living room please ensure that it is cleaned out at the end of your stay. But please do not put hot ashes in the plastic bin.There is a small metal bin in the garage for ashes.

Coal or peat etc. is available from the caretaker or Robertsons in St.Margarets Hope.

Pets- Please do not allow pets in the bedrooms or on the furniture.

All dog mess must be picked up, on a daily basis, placed in a plastic bag and put into the outside bin ( black plastic dustbin stored in the garage).

If dog mess is not cleared up an additional charge will be made.

Please bring your own pet beds, drinking and food bowls.

Smoking- Smoking is strictly prohibited in the house and out buildings.

Byre- The Byre (Barn) is currently undergoing refurbishment. Please do not enter under any circumstances.
